Fido Review

2006

Fido Is A Quirky Little Movie That I Found Very Entertaining. It Reminds Me Of "Leave It To Beaver" With A Zombie Outbrake Thrown In. Zombies Are Probably My Favorite Movie Monsters. Compared To Vampires And Mummies (Which If You Think About It, Are All Living Dead Portrayed In Different Ways,) Zombies Are Dumber And Funnier, But Can Be Extremely Viscious At The Same Time. However, Everytime I Hear About a New Zombie Movie, I Sigh. There Are Way To Many Zombie Movies Out There, Each trying to Add Their Own Twist, With Almost All Failing Miserably. The Only Recent Zombie Movie I Know Of That The Twist Has Worked For Is "28 Days Later". That Movie Potrayed The First Rapid-Moving Zombie, Which Has Been Incorperated In Almost Every Zombie Movie Since (Excluding Any Of George A. Romero's New Zombie Movies, Which I Am Glad Keeps Continuality With The Original Trilogy.) This Movie Also Has A Twist That Works Very Well, Though, I'm Pretty Postive It Won't Be Incorperated In Any Other Zombie Movies. In Fido, The Zombies Are Pets To The Humans. The Character's Title Zombie, Fido, Reminds Me Of Bub In "Day Of The Dead". Fido Expresses Emotion And Is A Strong Character To Have Practically No Spoken Lines. Although This Movie Is In The Horror Genre, It Better Suits The Comedy Genre. The Whole Scenerio Of A Zombie Outbreak In The 1950's, With Almost Every Character A General Sterotype Of A Family Memeber Frequently Seen In 1950's Sitcoms Is Quite Funny. But Needless To Say It Is A Zombie Movie, So There Is Gore, and Little Children Are Even Shot And Killed. Fido Is A Great Movie And I'm Glad To See Not Every Idea Involving Zombies Have Been Fully Explored. Though I'm Sure There Will Be Many Failed Attempts Between Now and The Next Great Zombie Movie.
