Speed Racer Is Hard To Describe. It's A Kids Movie For A Mature Audience. Kind Of A Break Between Stupid Comedies And Intelligent Action Flicks. Besides The Actors, I Don't Think There Is An Entire Thing In This Movie Not To Be CGI, And You Can Tell. Some Of The Images Are Absolutley Beautiful. Others, Look Like Shiny Peices Of Trash. There Is A Chase Scene Involving A 18-Wheeler That Reminds Me Of The Hulk (From The First Movie Of Course) Only Red. But Honestly, Colorful Action Sequences Is Probably the Only Way You'll Ever Get Me To Watch A Racing Movie (Unless Will Ferrell Is In It). "Speed Racer" Is Filmed Like A Cartoon, And There Are Multiple Stupid Looking Scene Translations To Back That Statement Up, And It Also Has Some Pretty Cartoony And Extremely Familiar Background Music. Seeing How This Movie Is Based On A Cartoon, I Can Over Look That, But That Doesn't Mean It's Good. What It Really Does Is Make The Writers Look Pretty Dumb (There Are Characters Named Inspector Detector, And One Of the Main Characters, X Racer, Secret Identity Is Really Rex Racer. Seriously.) I Am Pleased However, With The Fact The Main Caracter Speed Racer, Has No Problem Killing Other Racers Or Swearing. I Actually Like That Old Cartoons Are Being Made With A More Mature Tone. I Really Enjoyed "Transformers" And There Is Talk Of Robert Rodrigez Directing A Live Action Jetsons Film With A Darker Tone (Hopefully That Will Be Alot Less Like "Spy Kids" and More Like "Planet Terror".) Even Though Is Just In The Talks Now, I Can't Wait To See What Voltron Will Look Like. Now If The Could Just Take Back That "Scooby-Doo" Crap and Remake It With Serial Killers And Potheads Instead. There Is Audio Over The End Credits That Hint At A Sequel, And Despite Horrible Reviews From The Critics, I'm Sure It Will Be Produced (If They Are Making A "Cinderella Story Two", "Alone In the Dark Two" And "Scorpion King Two" There Is No Reason Not To Make "Speed Racer Two".) Even Though It's Way Too Long And Sophisticated To Be A Kids Movie, That's All It Will Appeal Too And I Would Not Recomend It To Anyone Over 18.
