Across The Universe Review
By: Michael Lee
Starring: Jim Sturgess, Joe Anderson, Dana Fuchs
Year: 2007
I'm A HUGE Beatles Fan. They Are Probably In My Top 3 Favortie Bands. I Have An Abbey Road Poster Framed In My Room Above My Bed. And This Movie Makes Me Proud I Love The Beatles. In Today's World Of "Hairspray" With A Cross Dressing John Travolta, And "High School Musical" With Preppy Teens Living In A Surreal High School Environment, Across The Universe Felt Like A Breath Of Fresh Air. Though It Is A Musical, There Was Drugs, Strong Lanuage, War, And I Believe Boobs In Two Scenes. I Felt Like This Was A Guys Musical (That's An Extreme Exaggeration, After All, It Was A Musical, And "Pink Floyd's The Wall" Is The Only Musical That Comes Close To Being Manly). I Don't Know Exactly Why (Probably The Vietnam War Era Setting) But This Movie Reminded Me Of "Forrest Gump", Only Not As Adult, Or Long. Across The Universe Has Nothing But Beatles Songs In It, So Of Corse It Would Have A Great Soundtrack, With Great Scenes To Match. The Scenes "Hey Jude", "With A Little Help From My Friends", And "Revolution", Which Are My Favorite Beatle's Songs, Show Great Emotion And Talented Singing, And "I Am The Walrus" And "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" Had Amazing Visuals. The Whole Movie Felt How I'd Imagine an Acid Trip Would. I'd Highly Recomend You Watching This Movie, Beatles Fan, Or Not.

8 out of 10 Nerdism Nerds.
