Look Review
By: Michael Lee
Starring: Rhys Coiro, Jennifer Fontaine, Giuseppe Andrews
Year: 2007
"Look" is a film shot entirely on security cameras. It's not a true story and as the movie progresses this becomes more and more obvious. However, that's not to say this movie isn't good. It's actually quite excellent.
Any film that starts with two teenage girls getting naked on camera and pretend to f*ck should win an academy award for badassary. Not only is horny teen girls in this movie, but so are kidnappers, clerks that seem right out of "Clerks", serial murders, and a poor sap who just can't seem to catch a break. Like at all. Somebody farts in an elevator. He gets on as they get off. Hot girls get in after him and they think it's him who smells. Then he gets turned down by a hot girl and has it coke switched with pickle juice. Poor guy. Anyways, his character is by far the most interesting especially considering the excellent twist ending.
This brings up how quickly your mood toward characters change as the movie progresses. Example: the quick stop clerks. At first I thought they were total douches. However, as the movie goes on I fond myself rooting for them. The same can be said for well actually, I think all the other characters get worse as the story moves on. The teacher: had I coming. Same with the high school slut. The guy who sexes up babes in a warehouse becomes even more dickheaded toward the end. I'm not gonna reveal anything the characters get caught up in though. You'll have to rent it to find out, and trust me it's worth it.
"Look" actually makes me think quite a bit about how often I'm on tape in public, and if any of my adventure could be displayed if I got a hold of that footage. "Look" is an 8, and I actually wouldn't mind seeing an actual real story told via security footage. Though, I don't know if it could live up to a scripted movie like this.

8 out of 10 Nerdism Nerds.
