The Rocker Review

By: Michael Lee

Starring: Rainn Wilson, Emma Stone, Josh Gad
Year:
2008

So The Rocker. It's A Pretty Great Movie. You Can Tell Within The First 7 And 1/2 Minutes This Movie Does Not Take It's Seriously. It's Pretty funny And It Kind Of Reminds Me Of "This Is Spinal Tapp", Another Great Rock n' Roll Movie That Is A Must See. Unfortunately, Rainn Wilson Does Not Get To Show Off His Great Acting Skills As He Does In "The Office" But You Do Kinf Of FeelSorry For His Character, Fish. That's Right, His Name Is Fish. The Story Is Actually Pretty Predictable: Teens Start A Band, They Blow there First Show But Play A couple More, Eventually Hitting It Big, Once The Become Big Their Manager Forces Them To Kick A Certain Person Out, That Person Goes Into A Depression But The Remaining Band Members Realize They Have Done Wrong and get The Former Member To Re-join, They Become Bigger Than Ever, And Fire Their Douchebag Manager. The Producers Of This Movie Tried To Put A Spin On It By Including A 40 Year Olds Drummer Into The Band Of 18 Year Olds. After The First 20 Minutes Of Seeing The Band, You Kinda Forget About It. He Acts Just Like, Actually, Even More Immature Than The Teenagers. There Was A Small Little Call Back I Did Enjoy Alot, Which I Feel I Must Include Becuase There Is A Chance You Miss It. One Of The Teenager's Parents Is Played By The Guy Norm From The Television Series "Cheers" And He Is Refered To In The Movie As "Norm Form Cheers" I Find That Absolutley Hilarious. I Do Recommend This Movie, But Only If You Have Nothing Better To Watch.
