NERD WARS: GI Joe Vs Transformers

15 Analogies That Describe Pixar's Relationship To Dreamworks

By: Michael Lee

I'm not one to hide my Pixar fanboy-ness. I love every Pixar movie, and honestly I think they established and are forerunning a brand new genre of movie: the CGI film. I am also one to not hide my hatred of Dreamworks. Spielberg may be my favorite movie director, but his CGI company fails in comparison to Pixar. Just to give you the run down of how the two compare let's check some Pixar and Dreamworks movies' ratings on Rottentomatoes.com. 5 Pixar films: The Incredibles- 97%, Monsters Inc.- 95%, Finding Nemo- 98%, Up- 98%, and Toy Story- 100%. Now a look at 5 Dreamworks movies: Bee Movie- 51%, Shrek- 89%, Over the Hedge- 74%, Ice Age- 78%, and Shark Tale- 34%. Even though lately Dreamworks have garnered a little shred of respect with entertaining films like Monsters Vs. Aliens and Kung Fu Panda (the only Dreamworks movies I can stand) they still fail to develop any instant classics like Wall-E or Up. So, in honor of Pixar's excellency and Dreamworks' mediocracy if developed a couple of anologies to comapre the two CGI studios:

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Chewbacca is to Jar-Jar Binks

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Mario is to Lluigi

Pixar is to Dreamworks as ET is to Mac and Me

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Indiana Jones shooting the Egyptian swordsman like a badass in "Raiders" is to Indiana Jones surviving an atomic bomb in a lead lined fridge like a badass in "Kingdom"

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Conan O'Brien is to Jay Leno

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Galaga is to Galaxian

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Batman Begins is to Batman Forever

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Alfredo's Pizza Cafe is to Pizza by Alfredo

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Voltron is to a Megazord

Pixar is to Dreamwork as the Chappelle's Show is to Mind of Mencia

Pixar is to Dreamworks as the original Star War trilogy is to the prequels

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Transformers circa 1985 is to Transformers circa 2004

Pixar is to Dreamworks as the Stay Puft Marshmellow Man is to the Phillsbury Dough Boy

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Ferris Bueller's Day Off is to Parker Lewis Can't Lose

Pixar is to Dreamworks as Parker Lewis Can't Lose is to The Ferris Bueller Tv Show
